Terminal 5 is British Airways' home hub at Heathrow, split across three buildings (T5A, T5B and T5C) linked by an internal transit. It handles the full BA short-haul network to Europe alongside its long-haul routes to North America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, plus BA CityFlyer and franchise codeshares. Iberia is the only other scheduled airline operating from T5, running its Madrid hub connections. If you're flying any other carrier — Star Alliance, Oneworld partners other than BA, or SkyTeam — you'll want Terminal 2, 3 or 4 instead; check your boarding pass carefully, since T5 is a 15–20 minute drive round the airport from the others.
Getting from Oxford to Terminal 5
The route runs down the M40 to the interchange with the M25 at Junction 1a, then a short hop on the M25 to Junction 14, where Terminal 5 has its own dedicated spur road — no need to queue through the central tunnel that serves T2 and T3. In normal traffic that's 57 miles and 70–90 minutes door to forecourt; allow longer in the weekday morning and evening peaks, when the M25 around the airport slows down.
