The University of Oxford is made up of more than 30 colleges, spread right across the city rather than in one campus. Central colleges like Christ Church, Merton, and Magdalen sit within a few minutes of each other near the High Street; others, such as St Hugh's, St Antony's, and Wolfson, are further out in north Oxford, closer to Summertown. Wherever your college is, the fixed price is set by its actual location, agreed before you travel — not a flat citywide rate that overcharges central colleges to subsidise the further-out ones.

Booking through a college office
Colleges and departments arranging transfers for visiting fellows, conference guests, or academic visitors can set up an account for invoiced billing rather than booking and paying individually each time. That typically means one point of contact in the college office raises bookings by email, and transfers are billed monthly rather than expensed trip by trip — see our corporate accounts page for how it's set up.
Term-time versus vacation collections
Porters' lodges are busiest at the start and end of term, so if you're booking a college collection for exactly those dates, it's worth confirming the lodge or gate we should use with the porter in advance — some colleges have a separate vehicle entrance for luggage-heavy pickups rather than the main visitor gate.
